Earlier this year, social media platform Instagram launched a new music property called 1 Minute Music. With this, artists can exclusively upload 60-second clips of their songs and videos on Instagram to be used as Reels or shared as Stories.
The move is a step forward in the platform’s quest to cement Reels as a handy tool for users to discover new music. Facebook India (Meta), which owns Instagram, said in a statement that #1MinMusic is also aimed at giving people access to an exclusive set of tracks that they can use to make their own Reels more entertaining. The artists featured so far cut across genres, from Punjabi singers including Jassie Gill and Gurnaam Bhullar to Tamil artists Aniruth and Sivaangi.
